Abstract

Red Gate Software commissioned The Tolly Group to evaluate the disk-to-disk backup performance of its SQL Backup Pro 4.5 versus competing offerings from Idera and Quest Software.

Using a single 0.8-TB database built from Wikipedia public data, engineers evaluated product performance when configured with a range of compression and encryption options. The tests were conducted in July 2006.
